What Are The Signs That A Root Canal Is Needed?

Sometimes no symptoms are present; however, there are signs you may need a root canal, and these include:

What Damages A Tooth's Nerve And Pulp In The First Place?

A tooth's nerve and pulp can become irritated, inflamed, and infected due to deep decay, repeated dental procedures on a tooth, and/or large fillings, a crack or chip in the tooth, or trauma to the face.

Root Canal Prevention

Since some of the reasons why the nerve of a tooth and its pulp become inflamed and infected are due to deep decay and repeated dental procedures on a tooth and/or large fillings, it’s wise to follow good oral hygiene practices (brushing twice a day, flossing at least once a day, and scheduling regular dental visits). These may reduce the need for a root canal procedure. Trauma resulting from sports-related injuries, can be reduced by wearing a mouth guard.
